Reminiscent of a Roman vase and finished in elegant, neutral tones, the Calix complements both classic and contemporary interiors while effortlessly adding height to your favorite petite trees and bushes.
Learn how to properly stage your plants with your new Calix planter for optimal health and beauty.
Like many of our planters, the Calix does not have a drainage hole and as such you should not plant anything directly inside of it. Instead, you will employ a method called staging, which we believe is a simpler, cleaner, and healthier way of potting indoor greenery no matter what features your vessel employs.
In a nutshell, staging refers to making it look like a plant is potted in a planter, when really it is potted in its nursery pot and placed inside the decorative planter.
The Calix is particularly well-suited for staging, as each planter comes with a suspended liner and tray to effortlessly fit your plant to the planter while also adding height. Designed specifically for tall containers, the suspended liners hold your grow pot securely at the top of the pot, eliminating the need for fillers and platforms.
There are many benefits of staging plants, including improved airflow, ease of watering, and ease of swapping out planters or plants when you're in the mood for a refresh.
The Calix planter is designed to hold plants in 10” diameter nursery pots, making it simple to elevate your greenery in style. Each Calix comes with a suspended liner and a tray (see image), ensuring your plant sits perfectly flush with the top of the planter for a seamless look.
Here’s how it works:
1. Place the suspended liner and tray inside the Calix planter.
2. Add your plant in its nursery pot—it’s that easy!
If you order a Léon & George plant with the Calix, it will arrive in a nursery pot specifically sized to fit flawlessly within the suspended liner. Enjoy a polished, professional presentation with minimal effort.
If you'd like, place decorative moss over the soil of your plant to hide the edges of the nursery pot (included with all plant + Calix planter orders).
