why are there no drainage holes?

Our Mid-Century and Nouvelle collections do not have drainage holes and are entirely waterproof. These ceramic pots are designed so that you can stage your plant to appear perfectly potted, while still allowing for proper drainage and protecting your floors from possible water damage.

To stage your plants, they should remain in their plastic nursery pots and placed inside the ceramics atop a short riser such us a foam block. This allows for clearance in case of overwatering.

For a finished look, you can use a decorative topping such as preserved forest moss or pebbles.
